Change Default Category Color In Outlook For Mac 2016
.iso image file software for mac. I have a 2010 Outlook client that shared a calendar to an Outlook 2007 user via email invite. She got the calendar however, no color categories appeared.
She told me that another person in her department received the same invite two months ago and he has the color categories showing in the shared calendar. I checked this out and that user claims that when the shared calendar appear in his Outlook, it had the color categories showing (and claims that his categories list changed to match the shared calendar when he accepted it). I checked the shared calendar properties to make sure both users had the same permissions (which they we identical) and made sure the settings for the calendars we the same (which they were) so, I started to look for a solution (on the web) and used an idea from reading a blog that had me updating the color categories in the mailbox properties. The idea didn't work. I continued my search for a solution and didn't find one. MS states that color categories in Outlook 2007/2010 are different than previous Outlook versions and are not stored with the pst files (which we use Exchange, cached, ost files) so MS states you can't migrate them between Outlook mailboxes which confuses me because the other user claims that his categories changed when he got the shared calendar. Has anyone encountered this issue with color categories and shared calendars?

I had some contact with MS and they state that the master color list should import with the calendar (office 2010 to 2007). They suggested I recreate the mailbox on the users PC.
I did this and I still do not have the colors in the shared calendar. To answer your suggestion, no, I haven't yet. I think that is what I will do next. I am wondering if the problem has something to do with permissions on the shared calendar? Same issue here and updating color categories doesn't work. I found a post to create a new calendar event on the users calendar while adding all the colors they would like to share with the shared calendar.

The drag the local event to the shared calenders and the users that have access to the shared calendar would be able to choose the color categories accordingly and when someone changes the color (status in our case) it would update on everyone's calender accordingly. This works for the label of the category but the colors are all white and grayed out and you can not change them. Why is this happening? I also had an issue with a colored category on calendars not showing up. The issue was that they changed the default name from 'Yellow Category' to 'All New Entries'. Although I was able to fix the issue by: 1) going into a colored entry 2) the color was missing but the category name was on top, I double clicked that 3) This brings up a category manager, I then clicked on the custom category I wanted to change 4) click 'new', (which appears to try to update the settings of that custom category) and update the color accordingly.
