Sync Paperwhite Kindle To Kindle For Mac
One of my favorite features of my Kindle device and the Kindle app on my iPhone and iPad is the ability to read a book on one device, then set the device down, only to pick up a different device, open the book and continue reading from the same place. I tend to use my Kindle Paperwhite at home for morning reading, then I use the Kindle app on my iPhone for reading during my commute or when standing in line at the coffee shop, and other opportunities during the day. If this feature (called Whispersync) wasn’t enabled, I’d have to constantly remember what page I’m on. Here’s how to sync your reading place across devices in the Kindle app on iPhone or iPad.
The current Kindle for Mac app does support automatic most recent page sync, not only furthest page. But it only works with purchased books from Amazon. With personal documents copied from a Kindle to the computer this way, you only get the furthest page sync, using the sync button. I have nearly 2000 books and files on my Kindle account, collected and imported over 8 loyal years. For a couple of years I've been sorting them all into collections on the Kindle for Mac app (which was still much more of a chore than it should have been, but definitely easier than trying to do it on the Paperwhite (7th Gen)). Having upgraded to a Paperwhite I now find that although the Paperwhite will sync collections to the cloud, the desktop app wont! Am I wrong, or is that insane?! Does anyone know if Amazon have any intention of updating the Mac desktop app to include this basic functionality? I note that if had done it the other way around, I could have imported Collections from the Kindle to the desktop app, but what's the point of that if it's only a one-way transaction? I'm literally tearing my hair out with frustration at this.
These kind of niggles (like not being able to select multiple books at a time on the desktop app) seriously undermine my confidence in the product. Sylenth for mac. Has anyone figured out a way around this, or should I give up? If, when you first registered your paperwhite via wifi (won't work with 3G), you had synced and then changed your Home page to: All (highlighted) Downloaded ___ Collections ___ Title you could have downloaded those Collection definitions by long pressing on them one by one until a menu comes up and selecting Add to Home/Download/something similar and thus you would have added your Collection definitions to your Paperwhite.
