How To Set The Default Font. On Office For Mac
Click the 'Font' tab, and then enter the new font size value in the Size section or select the value from the scrolling pane. The Preview box will update the sample font size. Click 'Set as Default.'

Keep in mind, though, that Comments in PPt are nothing more than preformatted rectangular AutoShapes that pull in the User ID info & offer the Hide feature. You may be able to get along with other AutoShapes instead of actual Comments, and you _can_ set the default formatting for them. It already has in PPT2002 and later for Windows where Comments are a new sort of critter, no longer Autoshapes and no longer formattable in any way I can see.
