Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is a 2.5D real-time strategy computer game by Westwood Studios, which was released for Microsoft Windows on October 23, 2000 [1] as the follow-up to Command & Conquer: Red Alert.
~Topic renamed~ This thread will be the main 'RA2 on Mac OS X' thread for testing. As we're aware, RA2 does not work properly natively on OS X and so we have to use a virtual environment such as VMware or Parallels Desktop. If anyone on ST have a Mac, whether it be a Macbook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini or a MacPro, please help me by testing your RA2 in a Windows XP/7 virtual environment as there are possibilities that RA2 may only work in a VM on certain model Macs. Macbook Air (mid-2014 model): As a few people may have read in my topic, I am trying to test gameplay of RA2 on Mac OS X (Macbook) through means of Parallels Desktop 10.
I am looking for somebody to help me test it by willingly setting up a couple of quick test-games to test the performance of game play through a virtual environment. (In this case, I'll be testing through a virtual environment of Windows XP. The test games will consist of quick 'tests'.
We'd start a game (ffg) on a small map and each build up to 15 tanks and schedule a few short attacks and so on. If anyone could take some spare time and help me with this, that'd be great! UPDATE: Natively working RA2 in Wineskin on OS X 10.10.2. A bit laggy at the moment (at least 2 second delay on the main menu) but also going to try online.
