Fleetwood Mac / Rumours 6-disc deluxe box (click to enlarge) ‘s classic 1977 album Rumours will be reissued on 28 January 2013 (29 Jan for North America and Canada) as a lavish six-disc super deluxe edition box set. The set will include four CDs, a DVD and a gatefold vinyl edition of the album. Included amongst the content is the bonus disc from the 2004 deluxe edition (disc four in this set) along with a further disc of outtakes and early versions including a Stevie Nicks demo version of The Chain (disc three).
In November 2014 Mick Fleetwood went on BBC Radio 2 to announce that Fleetwood Mac would be touring through Britain in May and June 2015. However, due to high demand, more dates were added, which stretched the leg into July 2015. This set list is representative of the performance on October 6, 2014.
A live CD (disc two) and the album proper (disc one) complete the CD line-up. The DVD is an official release of the legendary ‘Rosebud’ film, with documentary footage of the band, and live performances from this era.

In addition to a number of their defining songs – Go Your Own Way, The Chain, Tusk, Little Lies, Rhiannon, Don’t Stop and Everywhere – the release also compiles a number of alternate mixes, outtakes and live performances. On the face of it, re-releasing an old album or some kind of box set might seem straight forward – record company owns music, record company releases music – but in reality these releases are a tricky business, with many, many parties often involved in the process, including the artist, lawyers, disgruntled ex-band members, record label, managers (sometimes more than one), accountants, PR firms and management companies that have their own strategy about what their artist should be doing. Another shadowy figure plays a part too, especially in recent times; I refer, of course, to the Grim Reaper.
